A big test for Rio

This week, from July 23rd to 28th, Rio will host one of the biggest international catholic events, the World Youth Day 2013.

Pope Francis will arrive in Rio tomorrow and will find an atmosphere of excitement among many young pilgrims that has been arriving in Rio since last week.

"We are working on the altar and the stage to receive Pope Francis"

But the Pope will also face some worried cariocas, Rio citizens worried if the plan to receive this huge event will work out! Costs, security and public transports are among the main concerns about this event.

Besides being worried I hope that everything go out great and that the event be a success. At least it will be a big test for a city that is going to host the Fifa World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016.
I’m sure Rio will learn a lot from this event!

Welcome Pope Francis!
