Night Photography

Copacabana by night

Last night, after celebrating my husband birthday in our favourite Pizzeria, we decided to go back home walking by “calçadão de Copacabana” (Copacabana beach sidewalk). It is funny because, as we were not respecting the “calçadão” dress code, which would be shorts and havaianas or workout outfit, some of the street vendors thought we were tourists and kept offering us souveniers.

The weather is finally starting to become a little more pleasant and it was a perfect night to walk and observe all the people exercising by the beach.Night view of Forte de Copacabana, from Posto 6

Weekly Photo Challenge – Nighttime

2012-11-27 19.51.23After a long while, I’m  joining again Weekly Photo Challege by Daily Post. . This is my entry for this week’s theme,  Weekly Photo Challenge-Nighttime .

I took this photo with my cellphone last year for my apartment, when I used to live in Botafogo. Although the quality of the picture is not good, I love this picture, maybe because I miss so much this view.

Sister Love

Today is a very special day! Besides being Good Friday, a day filled with all the special meaning behind this Christian date, today is my big sister’s birthday!!

So I dedicate this post to her!! Quiqui, my big sister, the girl behind Notas in Fashion and While Eating Macarons, who loves Paris, macarons and photography, and lives in New York.

I wished I was there by your side to hug you, make a special chocolate cake for you and sing Happy Birthday with our kids! Unfortunately miles and miles keep us apart today, but my heart is always with you, my big sister, my best friend and my inspiration for so many things in life.

Thanks for being the best sister in the world! Love you !!!

As a birthday gift, a special photo from our trip to Paris in 2007. We had a great time together visiting Versailles, taking thousand photos and going on that “Da Vinci Code tour”, do you remember?! I wish that soon we can come back there, now with our kids!!!

Saturday Night View

IMG_6701Last saturday night we took our boy to the birthday party of one of his best friends. It would have been like any other kid’s birthday party, my son playing around with his friends while my husband and I ate lots of those delicious children’s party snacks and chatted with other parents. But this party was different, and the great difference was its location.

The party took place on the roof top of the building where my son’s friend lives and while taking care of my son we could enjoy this amazing night view of Botafogo neighborhood, Christ the Redeemer on the right and Pedra da Gavea on the left.

I haven’t been out for photography with my DSLR for a while so I enjoyed taking pictures of the kids playing and capturing this beautiful view with my camera.

I hope you like it!!

Now that I finally bought my tripod, I will start practicing night photography. I still don’t have any skills on that field, but I would like to share with you just one photo by now.

This one I took while walking in the sidewalk of Urca neighborhood with my husband and kid, after having a lovely time and delicious meal last night in Bar Urca, a very traditional restaurant in Urca, Rio de Janeiro.  Their specialties are seafood and fish dishes, all of them very tasty and well served!

Bar Urca is famous for the crowds that in hot days buy their ice-cold bottled beer on the counter and taste delicious finger food by the wall in front of the Restaurant and Bar Urca at the margin of Guanabara Bay.

Does any of you guys has already heard about it? If you don’t, when you have the opportunity go and check for yourself. You won’t regret it! I promise!!
