Tsunami – Evacuation Route Sign, San Francisco, 2012
I picked an old photo to join the Weekly Photo Challenge – Signs by Daily Post. It was our family road trip in California, in 2012. Our first stop was San Francisco, and I remember how this sign remind me that we were just on the top of San Andres Fault.
Some days later, when we were already in Monterrey, we experienced our first earthquake. Well, I really don’t have memories of this experience, because the right moment the earthquake happened my son and I were already sleeping. But my husband was awake and felt our hotel room shaking for a few seconds. When it was all over, he woke me up to tell what had happened. I got so scared that I couldn’t sleep that night.
For someone who had always lived in Rio de Janeiro, I’m definitely not used to this kind of geological phenomenon, and that’s why this street sign impressed me so much!
Have a nice week everyone!
After a long while, I’m joining again Weekly Photo Challege by Daily Post. . This is my entry for this week’s theme, Weekly Photo Challenge-Nighttime .
I took this photo with my cellphone last year for my apartment, when I used to live in Botafogo. Although the quality of the picture is not good, I love this picture, maybe because I miss so much this view.
Texture, that’s what I saw while observing this small river at Jardim Botânico (Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden) this sunday morning. So, this is my entry for this weekly photo challenge from Daily Post. Have a nice week everyone!
Our car shadow, on the move, a few weekends ago on our weekend trip to Búzios, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
We are not in spring in Rio de Janeiro. Actually we are in the middle of fall, as in south hemisphere the seasons are the reverse of those in the north hemisphere. But anyway, in Rio de Janeiro weather hardly varies from season to season. Who lives in Rio has the sensation that we just have two seasons: “Very very hot” in Summer and “a little bit hot” in Fall, Winter and Spring.
So for this week’s photo challenge, I chose a picture I took in one of my visits to New York in Spring. And when talking about New York, nothing is more “Spring” than the tulips everywhere in parks and streets.
Have a nice week!
